Working in Wabasso
Wabasso sits between Sebastian and Vero Beach, close to both the river and the barrier island. Properties here get salt-carrying wind and sandy, fast-draining soil, which means beds dry out faster and plants need more consistent attention than they would a few miles inland.
Palms are the defining feature of most Wabasso landscapes, and they need regular cleanup — old fronds pulled before they hang and drop, seed pods removed before they scatter, and trunks cleaned up without over-pruning into the dreaded hurricane cut, which weakens the tree.
For beds, we install a deeper mulch layer here than we would on heavier inland soil. It holds moisture through the dry months and keeps root zones cooler when the summer sun is at its worst.
